The new 'flash-less' home page
Over the last few days we completed all final touches to the new web design and all the upgrades to the web app software... and my new web is finally up and running.
Apart from the obvious design change (larger home page, cleaner design, etc.) the main changes are:
- Metadata: we can now tag images with keywords
- Maps: images can be referenced on google maps
- Private/client galleries: Password protection is now available for selected galleries
- HiRes file download: Large hi-res files can be attached to images in the private galleries to give clients access to large files.
Out of principle and compatibility with portable devices (read: iPad) I have also removed all Flash code and added a mobile site compatible with smart phones (read: iPhone).
All I need to do now is review the images, fine tune the selections and start adding keywords and geotags :-)
